Ukrainian Conscripts to be Demobilized as Military Actions Subside

In a recent announcement, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexei Danilov, revealed that conscripted servicemen whose service terms have expired will be demobilized. This decision comes as the Ukrainian government aims to address the needs of its military forces amidst the ongoing conflict in the country.

Danilov stated, “Regarding the conscripts who served their terms, the President has requested and the military has agreed that these individuals will be demobilized in the near future.” He further emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities understand the significance of this action, considering the number of conscripts involved.

The demobilization process primarily applies to those servicemen who were conscripted between 2020 and 2021 but had their demobilization postponed due to the military operations. This mainly includes men under the age of 27 who do not fall under the criteria for further mobilization.

Danilov also noted that these servicemen will have the option to continue serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces if they so desire.

On November 24th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new comprehensive plan for addressing mobilization matters in the country.

Earlier, the reason behind the dismissal of all deputy ministers of defense in Ukraine was revealed in the Parliament.
