World Health Organization Finds No Evidence of White Phosphorus Burns in Gaza

In a recent briefing in Geneva, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that they have not seen any evidence of patients with burns caused by white phosphorus in Gaza, even after the evacuation of the injured from Al-Shifa hospital. The official spokesperson for the organization, Christian Lindmeier, made this announcement, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We have not seen any evidence of injuries caused by white phosphorus in patients,” he said.

Previously, Ibrahim Kraishi, the permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations in Geneva, had claimed to the media that the Israeli army had used white phosphorus munitions in its attacks on the Gaza Strip. Amnesty International, an international human rights organization, stated that Israel’s use of white phosphorus munitions in Gaza and in clashes with Lebanon has been confirmed, and videos of explosions from such projectiles are “authentic.”

Prior to this, White House deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton stated that the US administration lacks independent confirmation of reports that the Israel Defense Forces had used white phosphorus in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in Russia, a possible timeframe for the end of the Israel-Hamas conflict was mentioned.
