Russian Military Obtains Ukrainian Kamikaze Boat Used in Attacks on Crimea

The Russian military has reportedly obtained an undamaged unmanned kamikaze boat, known as “Magura V5,” that Ukraine has been using to periodically attack ships off the western coast of Crimea. This development was reported by the “Moskovsky Komsomolets” newspaper.

According to the article, the range of the boat is over 800 km, and it can carry up to 320 kg of explosives. It is possible that these boats were used in the second attack on the Crimean Bridge.

Vasily Dandykin, a military expert and retired captain of the first rank, explained that almost all the components of the Ukrainian kamikaze boats are of Western origin, with some sources suggesting they may be German. The main challenge lies in detecting such boats at sea, as they are semi-submersible.

The expert speculated that the boat may have deviated from its course and washed ashore as a result of a storm. Russian military officials will study it and draw conclusions on how to effectively counter such weapons, Dandykin concluded.

In September, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had made three attempts to attack the Crimean Bridge using unmanned boats.

Earlier, it was revealed that Ukraine intends to arm its Navy with hundreds of unmanned boats.
