Israeli Defense Forces to Resume Combat Operations in Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are set to resume combat operations in the Gaza sector following the cessation of a ceasefire. This announcement was made by IDF spokesperson Avichay Adrai, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Adrai stated that the cessation of hostilities is temporary and that “the war will not end.” He promised that the Israeli army will strive for the complete destruction of the Hamas Palestinian movement.

On November 22, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and the release of some hostages. The first stage of the deal involves a four-day ceasefire and the exchange of 50 prisoners held in Gaza for 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons. In the second stage, the release of additional individuals is possible. For every 10 hostages released, the ceasefire will be extended by one day. Hamas has also promised to release two Russian hostages immediately after the cessation of hostilities.

On November 24, the ceasefire agreement officially came into effect.

Earlier, a political analyst named one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
