Russian Forces Shoot Down Drones and Rockets in Eastern Ukraine

Russian forces operating in the Donetsk region have successfully shot down 12 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and six rockets from High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), according to Vadim Astafyev, the spokesperson for the military group. The clashes took place in the areas of Pisky, Maryinka, and Novopetrykovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Astafyev revealed that the Ukrainian UAVs and HIMARS rockets were neutralized by the air defense systems. “A total of 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and 6 HIMARS rockets were shot down,” he stated.

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on the night of November 24, Russian air defense systems destroyed 13 UAVs that flew over the Crimean Peninsula. Three more drones were intercepted over the Volgograd region. The incident was labeled as a terrorist attempt using aircraft-type drones.

On November 23, a Ukrainian kamikaze drone attacked the village of Kozinka in the Grayvoron city district of the Belgorod region.

Earlier, Russia developed a new system for countering drones.
