Russian General Appointed as Chief of CSTO Joint Staff during Summit in Minsk

Russian General Andrey Sedyukov has been appointed as the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) during a summit held in Minsk. The decision was made on November 23 during the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council. The appointment of Sedyukov was announced on the organization’s website. The summit was attended by the leaders of CSTO member states, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakhstan’s Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan’s Sadyr Japarov, and Tajikistan’s Emomali Rahmon. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko also participated in the summit. However, Armenia refused to participate. The leaders of the CSTO member states signed a package of documents at the end of the summit.
