Russia Plans to Ramp Up Production of Drones for Special Military Operations

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, has instructed for the rapid mass production of small drones for their use in special military operations (SMO). This directive was given during a meeting following his visit to the Federal Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems, located in Moscow’s industrial park “Rudnevo,” as reported by TASS.

According to Medvedev, unmanned systems have become particularly in demand since the beginning of the special operation. “Perhaps, to be frank, this was not even expected,” he said.

“As the course of the military actions has shown, inexpensive drones are now being used to a greater extent at the tactical level, and in large quantities,” Medvedev pointed out.

He noted that there was no mass production of these drones in Russia before, and therefore the task is to establish such production as quickly as possible.

Earlier reports revealed that the state corporation “Rostec” intends to significantly increase the production of the “Lancet” kamikaze drones used in the special military operation zone.

It was also announced that Russia has launched the production of a new version of the “Ovod” kamikaze drone.

Previously, a Russian captain named the most useful types of weapons in the SMO zone.
