Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has expressed condolences following the death of Boris Maksudov, a correspondent for the television channel “Russia 24”. A video of the defense minister’s statement was published on journalist Pavel Zarubin’s Telegram channel.
“When I first received this information, I was told that we were taking him. There was hope. But unfortunately, there was significant loss of blood… I extend our condolences to the entire journalistic community,” Shoigu said.
On November 22, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a shrapnel projectile was dropped on a Russian filming crew from a drone. As a result, correspondent Boris Maksudov was injured and taken to a military hospital.
On November 23, journalist Vladimir Solovyov announced on his show “Solovyov LIVE” that Maksudov had passed away.
Later, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed condolences for the death of the journalist from “Russia 24”.
It was previously reported that the injured journalist from “Izvestiya” underwent surgery in Donetsk.
