New Law in Russia Provides Financial Support for Veterans of Special Military Operations

Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region have passed a bill that provides a one-time monetary payment to participants of special military operations (SMO) who have become disabled due to combat actions of groups I or II, the United Russia press service reports.

According to reports, this new measure of social support aims to ensure accessible housing conditions for disabled individuals.

Applicants who have been identified with physical impairments that limit their mobility are eligible for this payment.

It is intended to cover expenses associated with creating an accessible environment in the apartment or house where the disabled person resides. The size of the one-time payment will not exceed 500,000 rubles. However, if an individual decides to sell their current apartment and purchase a new one in a modern building, the law provides for a payment of 1 million rubles.

On September 11, it was announced that military pensioners participating in special operations as mobilized individuals or those who have signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation to participate in SMO will receive full compensation for their military pensions. This decision was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation explained the procedure for compensating military pensioners who are participants of SMO.
