Florida Woman Arrested After Hiding Inside Couch to Evade Authorities

A wanted Florida woman, Stacy Usher, was finally apprehended by deputies on Tuesday night after attempting to hide inside a couch, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office. Usher had been evading authorities since early November after allegedly violating her probation for the sale of fentanyl and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

Authorities discovered Usher hiding under the cushions of a sofa in Citrus County, Florida. A photo shared by the sheriff’s office shows a deputy pulling her out from her hiding spot. Following her capture, Usher’s arrest became the “Warrant of the Week” on the sheriff’s office’s social media pages.

It remains unclear how Usher violated her probation. However, she is a convicted felon in Citrus, Manatee, and Pasco Counties, with a criminal history that includes fraud, grand theft, and obtaining property by writing bad checks.

This incident highlights the efforts made by law enforcement to apprehend individuals who evade capture and violate the terms of their probation. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office’s successful arrest of Usher serves as a reminder of their commitment to ensuring public safety.
