In a recent military operation, two Su-25 attack aircraft belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have successfully destroyed positions and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) in the southern Donetsk region. This information was reported by the RIA Novosti agency, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to the ministry, the Russian attack aircraft targeted concealed fortified positions and armored vehicles of the VSU. The missile launches were carried out at low altitudes and in pairs. Afterward, the crews performed maneuvers and deployed heat traps before returning to the airfield they took off from.
Prior to this operation, the commander of a tank battalion, Evgeny Volkov, revealed that Russian fighters had captured a trophy armored transporter, the YRP-765, right under the nose of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Zaporizhzhia front.
The Russian Ministry of Defense pointed out that Major Volkov’s tank battalion successfully repelled all attacks from the Ukrainian army in the vicinity of the villages of Rabotino and Verbovo in the Zaporizhzhia region. It is worth noting that the Russian military forces inflicted significant casualties on the VSU personnel, as well as destroyed Ukrainian armored vehicles and fortifications, providing fire support for the motorized infantry.
Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities disclosed the number of captured VSU soldiers.
