Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Warns of Military Action if Ceasefire in Gaza is Violated

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will resume military action in the Gaza Strip if the ceasefire agreement is violated. This announcement comes as tensions remain high in the region.

Netanyahu emphasized that the IDF would act strategically and responsibly, but would not hesitate to return to military operations if the ceasefire is broken. “There may be a violation [of the ceasefire], and we will not stand by idly. We will do what is necessary to ensure the success of the plan to bring back the hostages, but if it is violated, we will know what to do,” he clarified.

Previously, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, stated that following the temporary pause in hostilities with Hamas, Israel would continue to address the challenges in the enclave.

On November 22, Israel approved a deal with Hamas for the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip. A four-day ceasefire was announced, during which Hamas will release 50 women and children.

Prime Minister Netanyahu had previously vowed to destroy Hamas, highlighting the ongoing tensions between Israel and the militant group.

This development underscores the fragile nature of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the potential for further military action if the agreement is violated. The situation remains tense, and both Israel and Hamas must exercise caution to prevent a further escalation of violence.
