Hamas-Israel Hostage Exchange Deal Set in Two Phases

A deal between the radical movement Hamas and Israel for the exchange of hostages will take place in two phases, with 50 individuals set to be released initially, followed by another 30 people. This information was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

“The agreement consists of two stages. Within the first stage, 30 children, eight mothers, and 12 women will be released within four days. During the second stage, up to 30 hostages will be released within three days. At this stage, hostages of non-Israeli origin may also be freed,” the publication reported, citing sources familiar with the negotiation process.

In response, Israel will release up to 150 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children. Additionally, Israel acknowledges that another 150 Palestinians may be released after the liberation of the next 50 hostages.

Israel further added that the duration of the ceasefire each day will depend on the release of another ten hostages.

Previously, Israel had mentioned a possible date for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons behind the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
