Ukrainian President Zelensky Raises Doubts about Ukraine’s Victory in Conflict with Russia

In a recent statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has cast doubts on Ukraine’s ability to achieve victory in its ongoing conflict with Russia, according to a report by Die Welt.

The newspaper highlighted Zelensky’s previous remarks regarding Ukraine’s dependence on constant support from the United States for any chance of victory. However, with the US Congress passing an interim budget that does not include additional aid to Kiev, and the German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius admitting that the EU’s goal of delivering one million artillery shells to Ukraine by next March may not be achievable, international observers are beginning to question Zelensky’s ability to sustain the offensive in these new circumstances.

Furthermore, Zelensky’s public political conflict with the Chief Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, serves as evidence that the Ukrainian authorities lack a unified position. This provides impetus for Western advocates of peaceful negotiations to push for their own agenda.

Earlier, political analyst Vladimir Skachko stated that the visits of US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius to Ukraine were aimed at preventing internal conflicts within the country’s leadership.

Previously, the arguments put forth by Zelensky regarding the cancellation of elections in Ukraine were dismissed as nonsense in the United States.
