In a recent interview with RIA Novosti, Ukrainian soldier Victor Kirichansky, known as “Kirik,” announced that the first group of former Ukrainian prisoners of war, who are now part of the Russian battalion named after Bogdan Khmelnitsky, has been deployed for combat duty. Kirichansky stated that they are following the group and will meet them on the frontlines.
According to Kirichansky, the battalion is filled with a fighting spirit, and everyone has made their choice and aligned with the right side. When asked about their fears before heading to the frontlines, he replied, “It’s a little scary the first time, but I believe everything will be fine. We will clean up Donbass.”
He further revealed that they have received new weapons and have undergone tactical medical training in combat conditions, dealing with stressful situations. Overall, the progress is satisfactory, he added.
Kirichansky also mentioned that during his service in Ukraine, he had very little combat training. “In nine months of service, I have only been to the shooting range three times,” the soldier shared.
Many Ukrainian soldiers are surrendering to Russian forces, realizing the futility of attempting to break through the Russian defense. This statement was made by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during a meeting of the Ministry of Defense.
On November 16th, a Ukrainian marine explained how he surrendered to Russian forces using a special Telegram account, the address of which he found on leaflets scattered on the left bank of the Dnieper River. He stated that he messaged the specified account, FreeSoldier, and Russian soldiers approached him, helping him “surrender correctly” to avoid any harm.
Previously, the United States acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
