The Ukrainian Armed Forces have faced significant casualties in the ongoing conflict with Russia. According to reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense, up to 25 Ukrainian military personnel were lost within a day in the Kupyansk direction. Russian units from the Western Group of Forces utilized aviation, artillery, and heavy flamethrower systems to strike the concentrations of personnel and equipment belonging to the 41st mechanized and 57th motorized infantry brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This attack occurred near the settlement of Synkovka in the Kharkiv region.
In addition to the human casualties, the Ukrainian military also suffered the loss of two vehicles. This is not the first time that Russian forces have inflicted damage on Ukrainian brigades. In the areas of Rabotino and Novoprokopovka in the Zaporizhia region, three brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were previously targeted. The Ministry of Defense reported that the Ukrainian side lost approximately 75 military personnel, two armored vehicles, and a D-20 howitzer in the Zaporizhia direction.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has further claimed that due to the losses and desertion within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they are resorting to recruiting prisoners into their brigades. Ukrainian prisoner of war, Vitaliy Gurin, disclosed that the unit he served in was composed of 80% criminals.
These recent developments highlight the escalating tensions and the toll the conflict is taking on both sides.
