Lockheed Martin Unveils Next Generation Fighter Jet Prototype

Lockheed Martin, the defense contractor for the US Department of Defense, has revealed an image of its new sixth-generation fighter jet, which is being developed under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program. The unveiling of the concept aircraft coincided with the corporation’s 80th anniversary, according to The Drive.

The released image showcases a tailless fighter jet refueling from an aerial tanker. The Drive notes that the aircraft features a fuselage design that tapers sharply towards the nose, as well as certain technical solutions that enable faster cooling of the aircraft’s body, making it less detectable by infrared radars.

The publication also highlights that the Lockheed Martin images do not show any visible air intakes on the aircraft, which, according to their speculation, could be concealed beneath the fuselage or intentionally omitted from the illustrations.

Prior to this, the American defense and aerospace company Lockheed Martin had been awarded a contract worth nearly $1 billion by the US Department of Defense.

Earlier, Lockheed Martin conducted joint tests with the US Army on the advanced tactical missile, PrSM (Precision Strike Missile).
