Russia Achieves 100% Nuclear Triad with Modern Ships, Minister of Defense Announces

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the proportion of modern ships in Russia’s nuclear triad has reached 100%. In a statement to RIA Novosti, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu revealed that three state-of-the-art nuclear-powered submarines of the Borei-A project have been included in the combat fleet of the Russian Navy. Minister Shoigu also discussed the testing of the strategic missile submarine “Emperor Alexander III,” which is intended for the Pacific Fleet.

Furthermore, Minister Shoigu highlighted that since 2018, over 130 ships, combat boats, and support vessels have been added to the fleets and the Caspian Flotilla. This expansion is part of Russia’s efforts to strengthen its naval capabilities.

Previously, Sergei Shoigu had announced that the Russian submarine forces would be equipped with new submarines armed with the “Kalibr” missile complex. He emphasized that the construction of ships with high-precision weapons capable of targeting infrastructure and naval targets, including aircraft carriers and naval strike groups, is an important task for the Russian forces.

It was previously reported that the Yasny missile formation will be equipped with the “Avangard” complex, further enhancing Russia’s military capabilities.
