During his visit to Kiev, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin announced that the United States will provide Ukraine with another installment of military aid worth $100 million, according to RIA Novosti.
“I announced today another transfer of military equipment from the Pentagon, totaling $100 million,” he said after holding talks with Ukrainian authorities.
Austin specified that the new package will include ammunition for artillery, air defense systems, and anti-tank weapons.
On November 14, the EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, expressed hope that Hungary will soon unblock the eighth installment of military aid to Ukraine worth €500 million.
Previously, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated that despite the Slovak government’s blocking of a military aid package to Ukraine, the alliance’s support for the Ukrainian state will continue.
Former NATO Secretary-General had earlier called for Ukraine to be accepted into the alliance within new borders.
