A suspected human trafficker wanted in Oklahoma has been apprehended in New York City after using a fake identity for over 20 years, authorities revealed on Friday. Feng Jiang, who was arrested on October 24 for an outstanding warrant related to a human trafficking investigation, had been masquerading under a false name and birth date to avoid deportation.
Following his extradition back to Oklahoma, a fingerprint analysis conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) confirmed Jiang’s real identity as Le Feng Jiang. It was discovered that Jiang had been issued a Final Order of Deportation in 2001, and he currently has an outstanding Deportation warrant, according to OBN Director Donnie Anderson.
The investigation into Jiang began when the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) received a tip about alleged sex trafficking at a residential location in northwest Oklahoma City in October 2022. Further surveillance revealed that approximately a dozen women were being trafficked at the site between October 2022 and February 2023. Jiang, along with another individual named Jian Lin, was identified as the operators of the brothel.
Authorities believe that the clients of the brothel were primarily managers and administrators of commercial marijuana farms. While Jiang was arrested in New York City last month, Lin remains a fugitive with multiple outstanding warrants in Oklahoma. Lin is also facing charges in Canadian County for his involvement in distributing the drug ketamine.
Although Lin may have been recently spotted in Oklahoma City, officials have not provided any further details. The investigation into the human trafficking operation is ongoing.
This case highlights the issue of human trafficking and the importance of remaining vigilant against such dangerous threats. It also exposes the lengths some individuals go to evade justice and continue their criminal activities. Authorities are committed to bringing both Jiang and Lin to justice and dismantling the network involved in human trafficking.
