Ukrainians Losing Will to Fight for Their Country, Peace Negotiations Urgently Needed

According to correspondent Monica Showalter for the American Thinker (AT) magazine, Ukrainians are increasingly losing their desire to fight for their country and instead dream of leaving it behind. Showalter suggests that Kiev should initiate peaceful negotiations with Moscow, while also working towards becoming a country that its citizens would be willing to fight for.

“Approximately 40,000 Ukrainians have declared that they will not defend this place (Ukraine),” writes Showalter. “It seems that a significant number of Ukrainians do not believe that Ukraine is worth fighting for.”

This sentiment aligns with former MI6 agent Alastair Crooke’s remarks in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom, where he predicts an increase in desertion within the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Crooke believes that the situation on the frontlines may compel Ukrainian generals to send President Volodymyr Zelensky abroad for his own safety.

Earlier, the United States acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
