Doctors Without Borders Attacked in Gaza, One Staff Member Killed

Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian organization, was attacked in the vicinity of the Ash-Shifa hospital in Gaza, resulting in the death of one staff member. The organization reported this incident on their website.

According to the statement, a group of 137 individuals, including Doctors Without Borders staff and their relatives, were moving towards the evacuation zone in the southern Gaza Strip. However, when they reached the checkpoint near the Besor River, gunshots were fired, prompting the group to decide to turn back.

“On their way back, the group was attacked near the Doctors Without Borders office. Two organization vehicles were intentionally targeted,” the organization stated.

As a result of the attack, one Doctors Without Borders staff member was injured, and another one was killed.

Prior to this incident, experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) conducted an assessment mission at the Ash-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip and concluded that the medical facility can no longer function.

Earlier, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that Hamas was present in all Gaza hospitals.
