Israeli Defense Forces Expand Military Operations in Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced the expansion of military operations in the Gaza sector, as well as the deployment of additional forces to operations in other areas of the enclave. This statement was released by the army’s press service.

According to the statement, the Southern Command continues to expand combat operations in additional areas of the Gaza sector.

It is noted that the combat operations were carried out in the Zaytun and Jabalia areas.

Prior to this, the IDF announced the suspension of military operations in the Gaza sector on the border with Egypt. According to the IDF, the fighting will cease in the Al-Shabura refugee camp in the city of Rafah. Israeli military personnel urged residents to evacuate by 16:00 local time (17:00 Moscow time).

The situation in the Middle East has deteriorated sharply following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza sector into Israeli territory on October 7, when Hamas announced the start of the “Al-Aqsa Flooding” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war.

Earlier, the UAE expressed concern over Israel’s statements regarding the Gaza sector.
