Sweden Urges Innovation and New Technologies for Military Defense

The Chief of Joint Operations of the Swedish Armed Forces, Karl-Johan Edström, has emphasized the importance of utilizing new technologies and innovations in the country’s military buildup. In a report presented to the government, Edström highlighted the need for advancements in the field of “air warfare,” which includes the use of drones.

Furthermore, the report suggests the development of anti-aircraft defense units (AAD). Edström noted the increasing need for authorities to protect themselves from the threat posed by unmanned aerial vehicles.

In September, political commentator Magnus Stenlund stated in an interview with swebbTV that Sweden found itself in a precarious situation due to its support for Ukraine. He mentioned that unlike most Western partners of Kiev, the kingdom has provided the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) with its most modern weaponry.

On November 16, it was revealed that members of the Turkish parliamentary committee on foreign affairs from the opposition “Good” party (İyi parti) called for the withdrawal of Sweden’s application for NATO membership.

Earlier, the Turkish parliament announced when they plan to discuss Sweden’s entry into NATO.
