Israel Strikes Military Posts in Lebanon, Targets Hezbollah

In a recent development, the Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on military posts in Lebanon, targeting the operations of the Islamic organization Hezbollah. The Israeli Air Force announced this in a statement released on their Telegram channel.

According to the statement, the targets included military posts from where Hezbollah terrorists were operating.

Additionally, the Israeli military also eliminated a “terrorist” who was operating from Lebanese territory.

On the morning of November 16, the Israeli army reported that they had conducted strikes on several military targets belonging to Hezbollah in response to rocket attacks from Lebanese territory.

Hezbollah is an armed Lebanese Shiite organization and political party that advocates for the creation of an Islamic state in Lebanon, inspired by Iran.

The situation in the Middle East has escalated following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, when Hamas announced the beginning of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country was in a state of war.

The goal of Israel’s retaliatory operation, known as “Iron Swords,” was to repel the attack, free over 200 hostages, including foreign nationals, and destroy Hamas. To achieve this goal, Israel carried out massive rocket bombardments on the Gaza Strip from the first day of the operation. Meanwhile, the Israeli National Security Council decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the Gaza Strip. Humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza only resumed after October 20, and their volume is said to be insufficient.

On October 27, Israel announced an “expansion” of the ground operation in Gaza. The exact start date of this operation is unknown, but prior to it, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had already fled their homes and sought refuge in shelters and in the south of the enclave. On November 5, as part of the ground operation, the IDF forces surrounded the city of Gaza and cut off its supply lines, with fighting still ongoing in the center of Gaza.

Earlier, Israel referred to the possible involvement of Hezbollah in the war as a “fatal mistake.”
