Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Response to Rocket Attacks from Lebanon

In response to rocket attacks launched from Lebanese territory, the Israeli Defense Forces have conducted strikes on multiple military targets belonging to the Hezbollah organization. This information was reported by the army’s press service.

According to reports, on Wednesday, an anti-tank missile was fired from Lebanon towards the Shlomi settlement in northern Israel. In response, the Israeli army struck the Hezbollah launch site.

Additionally, the press service reported strikes on observation posts, launch installations, weapon depots, and terrorist infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah.

The situation in the Middle East has intensified following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7th. Over two hundred hostages were taken.

On this day, Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory and declared the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war.

The Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah expressed support for Hamas. Rocket attacks have since been carried out on both Israel and Lebanon. On the daytime of October 19th, the Israeli army stated that the border areas of the country had been shelled from Lebanese territory. According to the IDF, several anti-tank missiles were fired towards the Kibbutz Manara.

It is believed that the Lebanese Shiite organization Hezbollah could potentially suppress Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system in the event of a conflict in the Middle East, according to experts cited by Bloomberg.

Earlier, Lavrov stated that Iran and Lebanon are unwilling to become involved in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
