The Turkish parliament has voted to extend the mandate for its military presence in Azerbaijan for another year. This decision, reported by TRT Haber, highlights Turkey’s ongoing commitment to supporting Azerbaijan.
The extension of the Armed Forces’ service in Azerbaijan is outlined in a presidential memorandum, emphasizing the continuation of actions outlined in the Trilateral Declaration signed by Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia on November 9, 2020.
TRT Haber acknowledges Turkey’s strong support for Azerbaijan and its significant contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Prior to this, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had announced that Turkey and Azerbaijan had conducted 12 joint military exercises in 2022.
In previous military exercises, Azerbaijan and Turkey focused on training sappers and aviation. This continued collaboration showcases the close relationship between the two countries and their commitment to enhancing their military capabilities.
