Changes in Western Approach to Weapons Supply to Ukraine: Expert Analysis

According to military expert and director of the Air Defense Forces Museum, Yuri Knutov, the West is changing its approach to weapons supply to Ukraine. In a conversation with “Lenta.ru,” he emphasized that the allies of Kiev still have reserves of weapons, but other countries are now being sought for supplies due to new military conflicts.

Knutov believes that the West has decided to change its system of military assistance because of Ukraine’s irrational management of the supplied equipment and ammunition. As a result, the supply of combat vehicles is being reduced, while the supply of spare parts and equipment for repair is increasing.

The expert also noted that the European Union will develop a program for the production of ammunition to avoid a shortage of weapons. Regardless of the situation in Ukraine, the development of the ammunition production industry will proceed according to NATO’s plans.

Previously, the head of the European Union’s diplomatic service, Josep Borrell, stated that the EU is not abandoning its intentions to supply Ukraine with 1 million rounds of ammunition by March 2024, although only 30% of this task has been completed since February 2023.

Earlier in the United States, one of the greatest threats to the Armed Forces of Ukraine was identified.
