The General Director of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, has announced that the company is prepared to enter into a partnership for the development of an unmanned and two-seater version of the Su-75 Checkmate fighter jet. Mikheev made this statement to TASS at the Dubai Airshow 2023, an aviation and space exhibition.
“When creating the lightweight tactical aircraft Checkmate, we are considering the development of unmanned and two-seater modifications. We have presented these possibilities to foreign partners during consultations on cooperation in this field. There is a significant interest in the unmanned and two-seater versions of the aircraft,” stated Mikheev.
Previously, the General Director of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, had revealed that the company is in discussions with countries in the Middle East regarding the design of the prospective Checkmate fighter jet, also known as the Su-75.
He added that currently, Rostec is preparing for production to assemble the first prototypes.
It has been reported earlier that the first Checkmate fighters may be introduced in 2025.
