NATO and FBI Training Dogs for Explosives in Ukraine, Raises Concerns

A spokesperson for the security services of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) has informed RIA Novosti that NATO and FBI instructors have been training explosive detection dogs for deployment in Ukraine.

According to the representative, Ukrainian sappers have been closely working with the dogs, training them in the field of explosives, as well as mine detection and clearance. The source clarified that the latest technology utilized by the Ukrainian military, under the guidance of NATO instructors, involves using dogs not only as explosive detection animals but also as explosive agents.

As reported by RIA Novosti, documents discovered at the former sapper and canine center in Severodonetsk reveal that foreign specialists worked with both purebred and mixed-breed dogs. Recent incidents have shown an increase in cases where dogs are employed to target Russian positions.

Prior to this, Politico reported that French military instructors, training soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) at a secret camp, used animal carcasses to familiarize Ukrainians with unpleasant odors.

On November 10th, RIA Novosti, citing a high-ranking European source, disclosed that the European Union’s military training mission for Ukraine has thus far trained 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

Earlier, the Kremlin assessed the risk of intensified attacks on Russian infrastructure by winter.
