Ukraine Urgently Requests Strengthening of Air Defense System from US

The office of Ukrainian President, Andriy Yermak, has conveyed to US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, that Ukraine is in dire need of reinforcing its air defense system. This statement was made on the official website of the Ukrainian President’s office.

Yermak emphasized the importance of air defense systems to protect critical infrastructure and grain transportation routes. He stated, “We are in great need of air defense systems that will safeguard our key critical infrastructure as well as the grain corridor.”

During their meeting in Washington, Blinken and Yermak also discussed the situation on the front lines in the conflict zone and the overall situation in the Middle East.

On November 11, it was reported that Andriy Yermak had a phone conversation with Jake Sullivan, the advisor to the US President on national security. During the conversation, the Ukrainian official highlighted the necessity of timely delivery of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine for successful resistance against the Russian army.

Previously, Yermak compared the conflict in Ukraine to a 100-meter race, in which Kyiv had almost crossed the finish line.

Valeriy Zaluzhny, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also disclosed details of his phone conversation with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, General Charles Brown. They discussed the challenging situation in certain areas of the front line, winter plans, and the needs of the Ukrainian troops.

Earlier, the US and Ukraine initiated negotiations on security guarantees for Kyiv.
