Ukrainian Defense Ministry Considers Dismissal of Three Commanders

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry is reportedly considering the dismissal of three commanders of the country’s Armed Forces, according to the publication “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing sources in the country’s military-political leadership.

The publication states that Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umorov is preparing recommendations for the dismissal of Commander of the Medical Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Tatiana Ostashchenko, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergey Naev, and Commander of the Operative-Strategic Grouping of Troops “Tavria,” Alexander Tarnavsky.

According to journalists, Ostashchenko’s dismissal was insisted upon by volunteers and paramedics working with the Defense Forces. The reasons for the potential dismissal of Tarnavsky and Naev are unknown.

According to the publication, Naev may become a suspect in a case related to the defense of the Kherson region in 2022.

The source noted that the question of their dismissal has been under consideration for several months.

On November 4, former Commander of Special Operations Forces of Ukraine, Major General Viktor Khorenko, stated that he did not understand the reasons why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky removed him from his position. As Major General Khorenko pointed out, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, also could not clarify the reasons for his dismissal. Khorenko mentioned that he learned about his dismissal from the media.

Earlier, Khorenko reported on the difficult situation in Bachmut (Artemivsk).
