The international medical humanitarian organization, Doctors Without Borders (MSF), has reported that people attempting to flee the “Al-Shifa” hospital in the midst of ongoing clashes in the Gaza Strip are being targeted by airstrikes. The organization made this announcement on its social media page.
According to MSF, individuals trying to leave the medical facility are being fired upon by snipers. Furthermore, snipers may be hiding inside the hospital and shooting from there.
“We need a guarantee of a safe corridor,” stated the organization.
Prior to this, it was revealed that the last 22 foreign employees of MSF who were unable to leave the Gaza Strip earlier have now departed the Palestinian enclave. However, approximately 300 Palestinians, including MSF staff and their families, remain in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Palestine called for the establishment of a maritime humanitarian corridor between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip.
