The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have temporarily halted military operations in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip for four hours, as a humanitarian corridor is opened. This announcement was made by IDF spokesperson Avichay Edri on social media.
“Today, we will implement a tactical pause in military operations for the day, specifically from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (12:00 pm to 4:00 pm MSK) for humanitarian purposes in the city of Rafah, west of Salah,” he wrote.
Edri also explained that a safe passage remains open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for humanitarian purposes through Salah ad-Din.
He added that if members of Hamas attempt to obstruct the movement of civilians, they should contact the IDF.
On November 13, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called for the opening of a maritime humanitarian corridor between Cyprus and the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Israeli President Itzhak Herzog stated that the Hamas command center is located beneath the central hospital in the Gaza Strip.
