Israeli Defense Forces Strike Positions in Southern Lebanon in Response to Cross-Border Shelling

In a recent development, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched strikes on positions in southern Lebanon in retaliation for mortar shelling from the Israeli territory. The IDF’s press office reported this incident via their Telegram channel.

According to the report, the alert was raised in the vicinity of the Gornot-ha-Galil settlement in northern Israel. Two mortar launchers were detected on Lebanese territory, and the projectiles landed in open areas. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

“The IDF artillery is targeting the sources of the bombardment,” the statement mentioned.

Additionally, Israeli military forces identified an armed militant group on Lebanese soil during the night of November 13 and launched an attack against them.

During the day, a anti-tank rocket was fired from Lebanese territory towards the Netua area in northern Israel. In response, the IDF opened fire.

The day before, acting Minister of Social Affairs in the Lebanese government, Hector Hajjar, stated that Israel is waging a war of attrition in southern Lebanon, which will lead to the cessation of economic and social life.

Earlier, a political analyst cited one of the reasons for the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
