The Palestinian Red Crescent has announced the preparation for the evacuation of patients and staff from the “Al-Quds” hospital, according to a statement released on the organization’s social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter).
The announcement highlights that the evacuation is being planned amidst the continued bombardment in the area.
“Bombardment continues while preparations are underway at the hospital for the evacuation of patients, their families, and medical staff,” the statement reads.
The Red Crescent also reported that the “Al-Quds” hospital is surrounded by tanks and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) military personnel.
Prior to this, Israeli tanks had shelled the “Al-Quds” hospital in the Gaza sector, where approximately 14,000 people are seeking shelter.
On November 7th, the IDF also targeted a building adjacent to the “Al-Quds” hospital.
Earlier, Israeli President Itzhak Herzog stated that the Hamas command center is located beneath the central hospital in the Gaza sector.
The situation in the region remains tense as the Palestinian Red Crescent works to ensure the safety and well-being of the hospital’s patients, staff, and their families amidst the ongoing conflict. International attention is focused on the escalating violence and the need for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
