The United States has taken a stand against the involvement of medical facilities in the Gaza sector in the ongoing conflict. This position was conveyed by Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor to the US President, in an interview with CBS News.
Sullivan informed the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) about this stance, emphasizing that the US does not want to witness any clashes taking place in hospitals, where innocent patients seeking medical assistance may become victims of crossfire. He further stated that active consultations have been conducted with the Israeli army regarding this matter.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had stated that the country’s authorities are striving to minimize civilian casualties in the Gaza sector.
On November 11th, Jānis Lenarčič, the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, acknowledged that both sides involved in the conflict in the Middle East are committing crimes against the civilian population, which should be protected in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Earlier, the Israeli army announced the relocation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to the southern part of the Gaza sector.
