Turkish President Erdogan Denies Reports of Arms Shipments from Syria

The administration of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has refuted claims made by certain media outlets regarding the delivery of a large batch of weapons from Syria to Turkey. According to RIA Novosti, citing information from the Disinformation Combat Center of the Turkish Republic’s Communications Directorate, these reports do not correspond to reality.

“Inaccurate statements by the media suggesting the movement of a significant amount of weaponry from Syria to Turkey are false,” the publication states.

Turkey also emphasized that the customs control groups of the Ministry of Trade work around the clock, utilizing the most advanced technical means.

“The passenger compartments and cargo of trucks passing through our borders undergo physical inspections. Vehicles passing through X-ray installations are subject to detailed inspections,” the statement asserts.

In October, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow has observed some progress in the normalization of relations between Syria and Turkey.

Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed that the establishment of peace in the Middle East is only possible with the independence of Palestine.
