Ocoee Police Department has released a video and images of a suspect vehicle following the shooting death of 60-year-old Army veteran Gregory Reed on November 9, 2023. The police in Ocoee, Florida are offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the identification of the person responsible for Reed’s murder. The incident occurred when Reed was driving his vehicle through a BP convenience store parking lot off Clarke and Silver Star roads at around 8:20 p.m. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
Family members of the Army veteran held a news conference on Veterans Day to express their grief and appeal for information. Tyrone Scott, Reed’s cousin, stated, “For someone to hurt this man like they did is wrong. He didn’t deserve that. He deserves to be here today.” Reed’s daughter, Deidre Anderson, also pleaded for information, emphasizing that her father was not involved in any wrongdoing and was a loving family man who made sacrifices for his loved ones.
The Ocoee Police Department has released videos and pictures of the suspect’s vehicle, which appears to be a silver SUV. Investigators believe that the shooting may have been a random act, as it does not seem to be related to an armed robbery. They also do not believe that the suspect and the victim knew each other, although there may have been a verbal exchange before the shooting.
Ocoee Police Lt. Mireya Iannuzzi stated, “He was a proud veteran and today, on Veterans Day, we need the public’s help. We desperately want to bring justice to this family.
