Russia’s decision to expand its production of powerful unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has raised alarm in the United States, according to the American magazine National Interest.
One of the main concerns is the new Russian strike drone, the S-70B “Okhotnik,” which can be used in conjunction with the fifth-generation fighter Su-57. The technical features of this drone make it a formidable weapon, the authors of the article noted. For example, it is equipped with an aviation turbojet dual-circuit engine AL-41F1.
Meanwhile, the Navigator Institute of Aviation Instrumentation has begun creating the first prototypes of a domestic collision avoidance system for UAVs, which will be ready for testing in 2024.
According to Navigator’s CEO Sergey Baburov, their collision avoidance system will ultimately be miniature versions of similar solutions used in manned large-scale aircraft.
Earlier, the Russian army eliminated four mortar units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction.
