Israeli Defense Forces Confirm Strikes on Southern Gaza Amid Ongoing Conflict

In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that they never promised to refrain from striking the southern regions of Gaza. This statement came from IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus, who emphasized that while they urged Palestinians to move towards the south, they never stated that they would not carry out strikes in that area. Conricus further noted that there may be instances where the Israeli army targets significant military objectives in Gaza.

Addressing the concentration of major operations in the north of Gaza, the IDF spokesperson clarified that it does not mean that strikes will not be carried out in the southern part of the region.

On November 12, the IDF revealed that they had destroyed over 150 tunnels used by the military wing of Hamas, a Palestinian movement, since the commencement of hostilities in Gaza. These tunnels serve as hiding places for militants, protecting them from attacks.

Prior to this, David Harden, former director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) mission in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, stated that Hamas planned to ensnare the IDF in the Gaza Strip, trapping them in the conflict.

In a separate development, a group of Hollywood actors recently penned a letter to President Biden, urging him to intervene and halt the ongoing violence in Israel and Gaza.
