Rafah Checkpoint to Reopen for Foreign Citizens Leaving Gaza

The Rafah checkpoint will resume its operations on November 12th for foreign citizens wishing to leave the Gaza Strip, as announced by the Palestinian border service on their Facebook page. It is important to note that Meta, the company that owns Facebook, has been deemed extremist and banned in Russia.

According to the border service, the checkpoint will be open for citizens of foreign countries who have been previously included in the compiled lists.

On November 10th, 85 Russian citizens were scheduled to leave the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint. At least that many Russians are listed among the foreigners allowed to pass through. At the time of publication, at least one Russian woman was present at the border crossing, as confirmed by TASS. The latest information indicates that there are approximately 500 Russian citizens in the Palestinian enclave. More details can be found in the article published by “Gazeta.Ru.”

Later, Mikhail Bogdanov, the Special Representative of the President of Russia for the Middle East and African countries, and Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, announced that the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint could take up to three days.

The United Nations previously commented on humanitarian aid for Gaza.
