Russian forces have emerged victorious in a recent clash with Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk direction. The “Zapad” group, known for their strategic prowess, successfully eliminated four mortar crews of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, dealing a significant blow to their capabilities.
Sergey Zybinsky, the Chief of the Press Center of the “Zapad” group, confirmed this development, shedding light on the extent of the damage inflicted on the Ukrainian side. The Russian Armed Forces managed to destroy a range of military assets, including the formidable self-propelled artillery system Krab, the versatile SAU 2S1 “Gvozdika,” the powerful D-30 howitzer, and four mortar crews stationed near key settlements.
The losses suffered by the enemy were substantial, with up to 50 servicemen reportedly taken out of action. This successful operation showcases the efficiency and strength of the Russian forces in the region.
In addition to these achievements, the Russian Armed Forces also neutralized an enemy Bradley infantry fighting vehicle and an M113 armored personnel carrier, further crippling the Ukrainian military’s capabilities. The VSU’s reliance on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was also exploited, with three UAVs being destroyed during the operation.
Strategic missile and bomb strikes were executed with precision, targeting Ukrainian positions in the areas of Petropavlivka and Zagoruykovka. Despite desperate counterattacks by the VSU in the regions of Synkovka and Zagoruykovka, the Russian forces successfully repelled these attempts, solidifying their dominance in the conflict.
This recent victory follows the earlier defeat inflicted by Russian forces on two Ukrainian brigades in the Rabotino area. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ struggles with effectively utilizing Leopard tanks, as pointed out by Western observers, further highlight their limitations in this ongoing conflict.
