Russian air defense systems achieved significant success in neutralizing multiple Ukrainian attacks during the past week. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 32 HIMARS projectiles, 12 Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles, as well as two Neptune missiles were shot down by Russian forces.
The attacks were carried out by the 33rd, 65th, and 118th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) on the Zaporizhzhia front. Russian military units responded with a combination of airstrikes, artillery fire, and heavy flamethrower systems. The clashes took place in the areas of Rabotyno and Novoprokopivka, resulting in significant losses for the enemy.
The UAF suffered up to 80 casualties, including the loss of three tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles, three armored personnel carriers, two combat armored vehicles, and two pickups. Additionally, an M109 artillery installation and an M146 cannon, both of US origin, were destroyed.
In a separate incident, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted a drone aircraft launched by Ukrainian forces into Russian territory in the Oryol region.
The recent events have highlighted the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces carrying out aggressive actions. The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has previously expressed concerns over the intensity of the strikes conducted by the UAF on Donetsk.
