Ukraine’s Use of German Tanks in War Against Russia Raises Concerns

The Ukrainian Armed Forces may be at risk of losing their German Leopard tanks due to their improper utilization, according to Forbes commentator David Axe. In a recent analysis, Axe emphasized that the Ukrainian military should not deploy these tanks in small groups without adequate infantry support, especially when directly engaging with Russian forces. This approach often leads to tanks traversing minefields, artillery strike zones, and unmanned aerial vehicle territories, resulting in their swift destruction.

Axe further advised Ukraine to acquire a minimum of 195 additional Leopard 1A5 light tanks, which were manufactured in 1980. However, he cautioned that even with such a sizable fleet, Ukraine’s military is prone to mishandling the equipment, thus rendering it vulnerable to destruction.

Recent reports revealed that Russian military units in the “West” region, responsible for destroying Leopard 2 tanks on the Kupyansk front, have been rewarded with combat accolades and certificates for monetary compensation.

In a separate development, a soldier from the Ukrainian Armed Forces expressed confusion regarding the underlying reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
