Unconfirmed reports of a possible armed group near the village of Azanta in the Gudauta district of Abkhazia have been addressed by the State Security Service (SSS) of Abkhazia, as reported by “Sputnik Abkhazia.”
The SSS stated that they promptly respond to any threats to the security of the Republic of Abkhazia. In collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, State Protection Service, and Ministry of Internal Affairs, the SSS has blocked access to critical infrastructure sites, reinforced security measures, and conducted searches in the area.
Previously, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia, Mr. Kiut, reported that hunters had noticed seven individuals armed with foreign weapons near the village of Azanta. The “Solovyov” Telegram channel claimed that a sabotage group of 50 people from Georgia had entered Abkhazia with the intention of carrying out a terrorist attack at the Sukhumi airport. Mr. Kiut announced the closure of all approaches to Sukhumi and promised to open fire on any attempt to break through.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia stated that the information regarding the infiltration of saboteurs into the country had not been confirmed.
