Arrest Made After Homeless Man Discovers Torso in Plastic Bag in Los Angeles

An arrest has been made in Los Angeles after a homeless man made a gruesome discovery of a woman’s torso stuffed inside a plastic bag while digging through a trash bin. The remains were found near a dumpster in the city’s Encino neighborhood, and video evidence from the scene led investigators to search a home in Tarzana. A suspect, 35-year-old Samuel Haskell, was arrested at a mall in Canoga Park and booked on suspicion of murder.

According to authorities, Haskell’s wife and her parents, Gaoshan Li and YanXiang Wang, are currently missing. However, the couple’s three young children are safe and in the custody of Children and Family Services. The identity of the body part and the victim are still unknown. Police believe that the torso was likely dumped within the past couple of days.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
