US Takes Measures to Signal Iran amid Escalating Conflict in the Middle East

According to information from CNN, a high-ranking US military official has stated that the United States has taken steps to signal Iran about its unwillingness to escalate the conflict in the Middle East in light of the ongoing military actions between Israel and Hamas.

Earlier, the Pentagon announced US airstrikes on a weapons depot belonging to pro-Iranian groups in eastern Syria in response to continued attacks on American forces in the region.

The high-ranking US official stated, “In light of the increasing tension due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, we have taken additional measures to directly engage with Iran, its affiliated groups in Iraq, Lebanon, and our regional partners… We seek to clarify that our military actions do not signify a change in our approach to the Israel-Hamas conflict, and we have no intentions of escalating the conflict in the region.”

In recent days, the American base at the Conoco gas field in the Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria has been targeted by rocket fire. The US military base in the vicinity of the Omar oil field in eastern Syria has also been attacked. The Pentagon reported that American military bases in Iraq and Syria have been subjected to 20 attacks involving rockets and drones in the past 10 days.

John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House’s National Security Council, stated that the airstrikes on weapons and ammunition depots in Syria served as a warning signal to Tehran.

Earlier in Iran, regular patrols were organized to monitor the wearing of the hijab.
