Intense Clashes Erupt in Jenin as Israeli Forces Battle Palestinian Resistance

In the city of Jenin, fierce fighting has broken out between the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Palestinian resistance on the West Bank of the Jordan River. This development was reported by Al Mayadeen TV channel.

According to correspondents on the ground, Israeli troops are launching assaults on Jenin from multiple fronts. Fighters are receiving reinforcements from nearby towns of Al-Jalamah and Mukabila. However, the Israelis are facing resistance from their opponents, the publication noted.

These clashes are taking place amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Hamas movement. On October 7th, Hamas forces fired several thousand rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. Thousands of militants infiltrated Israeli territory, capturing dozens of military vehicles and over a hundred hostages. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country is in a state of war.

The Israeli Defense Forces’ counter-operation has been named “Iron Swords,” with one of its objectives being the destruction of Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has conducted strikes on hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli National Security Council has decided to halt the supply of water, food, goods, electricity, and fuel to the sector. On October 13th, Israel informed the United Nations that 1.1 million Palestinians must evacuate to the south of Gaza within 24 hours in anticipation of a ground operation in Gaza.

Previously, Israel stated that Hamas had lost control of the northern part of Gaza.
