Syria: US Military Base Attacked by Iraqi Resistance Movement

Around 15 missiles have been launched by the Iraqi Resistance Movement at a US military base in Syria, located near the El Omar oil field, as reported by Al Mayadeen.

It is also reported that the group has attacked an American base near the Koniko gas field.

Earlier, it was reported that Syrian forces engaged in a shootout with US military personnel to the east of the provincial center of Deir ez-Zor (420 km from Damascus). The clashes began in the Euphrates area after the US attacked the eastern quarters of the city of Deir ez-Zor. According to the television channel, both sides are using heavy machine guns, mortar installations, and artillery guns.

Al Mayadeen also reports that the US field base Al Omar, located to the east of Deir ez-Zor, was bombarded with six rockets in response to the strikes on the eastern quarters of the city.

Prior to this, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin stated that the US military struck an object in Syria that, according to their claims, was being used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated groups.

Earlier reports indicated that Israeli aircraft carried out strikes on Syrian positions.
